Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric has confessed that he is trying to buy Greek club PAOK Salonika.
Speaking to Greek magazine GOAL, he admitted that he was keen to take control of the club.
"It's true," said Mandaric, who has hit the headlines recently for appointing a director of sport over manager Harry Redknapp at Pompey.
"I can't deny this information, and I have to admit it is true.
"I have had some discussions with representatives of PAOK, but for the moment, we have not moved forward.
"Perhaps I will have something more to tell in the future.
"The truth is that I do know PAOK very well as a team and I certainly had discussions with a view to what we can do.
"I can't say the discussions had a result, at least nothing that I can announce right now."
It is widely reported that the person who acted as a link between Mandaric and PAOK was Velimir Zajec - the person who the chairman appointed to the Pompey hierarchy.
