Zagorakis has retired from international football...

Hi there,

I read Zagorakis is retiring from the National team...

Quite sad, isn't it?
What do you reckon people? Was it really time for him to retire?
I guess the positive thing is that he'll only focus on the mighty PAOK from now on! ;)

Yeah ... that's right. His last game was last Wednesday vs Bosnia.
Actually it's not so sad because this is the circle of life. Theo is old enough and i feel he choose a proper time to retire from the national team. He said he want to focus on PAOK until the end of the period ... on June when probably he will retire also from PAOK.

You're right, he's old enough.
I was quite happy when Zidane first retired. He wasn't supposed to play this world cup... and actually I didn't want him to, as I believed some younger players deserved a chance and the way he come back to the team, with all the stories around it, was bad for the team (due to our useless coach who is from Lyon! Bastard! That's because of him that most of our players retired in the first place!). In the beginning it was hell. But then again Zizou's return did help us to get to the final.
Still I thought it was the right moment for him to retire. Even though I know I probably won't see another player like him before a very loooooong time...
Shame he doesn't play for St Etienne now... we could do with a player like him!  :P
So who is going to replace Zagorakis?

hehehe... tell me about it!... I'm sure I could ask Pires as well... Zagorakis gave him quite a hard time during the quarter final, if I remember correctly...
From a French point of view I have to be delighted to see Zagorakis leave the national team... (though I like him as I like good players...) :)

So who is going to replace Zagorakis?

There is a new talented player in the team ... last year he was in the 10 most talented players of Europe. His name .... ILIADIS!!!! I think that Iliadis is a great player ... with innumerable skills more than Teo!!!
