Title: PAOK- AZ Alkmaar
Post by: AZ_rules on August 28, 2004, 19:47:00
Hello, 16 september we play in your city against your team. I shall visit that game to support my team AZ. We stay a couple of days in your city and we hope we can drink a couple of beers with you.

Welcome to our forum AZ_rules!

You shall be welcome in Thessaloniki.

Dutch people are more famous for Heineken and... milk. You export a lot of Heineken in Greece and you drink milk with soup, so I guess it is a pretty good description  ;)
Anyway, PAOK fans prefer to drink RETSINA before games (pretty good cheap white wine) and I' sure you'll get your hands on a bottle like that.

Say, were Alkmaar fans happy sad, indifferent regarding the draw against PAOK? What are the latest news up there?

Take care,

D.

Hello ruleaz and welcome to our board!

Here's a link for various hotels: http://www.saloniki.org/en/hotel/lux.htm

The list has mainly the "famous" hotels, but it is a good starting point. Thessaloniki has as well a Holiday Inn if you want a foreign chain...

Thanks for the adress and the quick reaction.
Now it can`t be a problem to find a hotel.

What do the PAOK supporters expect from the game?
Do the PAOK supporters come to Alkmaar for the return?

1. No problemo for the address. Be sure you stay more than a noght in Thessaloniki so you enjoy the night life... Bring a gilr or...two  ;) Oh, and try to negotiate prices with the hotels.

2. PAOK fans we are for the moment not caring much about the game against Alkmaar. We are more concerned with the incapability of our management and the "weird" lineups of our trainer. Our trainer was probably the most loved trainer that ever came to our club, but since then many PAOK fans feel "cold" towards him. Basically the situation is not good in our team. Bottom line is that I think PAOK fans don't really CARE about the UEFA anymore. We wanted to play in Champions League and we were out of it in the most humiliating way, and this we cannot forgive.

3. PAOK fans don't need to "come" from Greece. There are PLENTY of PAOK fans ALL AROUND THE WORLD. Basically you live in a...PAOK WORLD  :P
See you in Alkmaar!!!

Hey, that fact makes your club really sympatic!  ;)
What about the connection to flemish clubs? Did you hear about RWDM?

It's "neuken in de keuken" (fucking in the kitchen). We have very beautifull dutch girls in our country but the most girls don't like soccer, I think that not many dutch girl will travel to Thessaloniki. Are there many greece girls in Thessaloniki? Also we have heard that Thessaloniki have many students, is that true. What are the places to be in Thessa where we can party?

I heard of RWDM, but they were taken out of competition a few years ago, and started 1 year later in the lowest Belgian league (8th level).
Some AZ supporters have friendly connections with Lierse SK now, because it's the former club of our Belgian striker Stein Huysegems.

@Forza AZ
Yes, right, they had to start from the lowest league. But before I was sometimes there, cause I have some friends in Brussel, who support that club. Was allways funny. Still they have a connection with guys from Hearts of Midlothian, Brugge and Angers but a big antipathy to Standard, Antwerp, Anderlecht and their friends from Ajax. Whatever.  ;)

@AZ_rules
For a request for the party-locations in Thessaloniki I'm unfortunalety a bad addressee, cause I live in Berlin, may be anybody from the other guys here can give you some advises. But its true, that there is a big university but the proportion man/womans is probalby 50:50 like everywhere on the planet.  :cwm12:
I think its a bad announcement for the greek guys that nearly no dutch girls will come with you guys to the match, it will sadden them, cause you know:  as a guest you have to bring some gifts.

Regards  :)

And off course we leave the girls at home. It`s better to party with other girls

We don`t know. No info from the club. There is one plane that fly`s in for the match. About 200. Sold out.
The sponsors have an trip also. Don`t know how much.
And than are  people coming on there own.
I think between 500 and 600.
Maybe some dutch people who are on holliday nearby will support AZ.

The plane organised by AZ's sponsor Kras (a travel agency) only has about 125 supporters in it. Furthermore untill now about 125 tickets have been sold to supporters that organise their trip themselves.
More people want to go with an organised trip, but it's not sure how or if AZ or Kras is organising another plane.
Title: Re: PAOK- AZ Alkmaar
Post by: HHW on September 08, 2004, 18:47:03
125 AZ fans on organised trip (sold out), some Business club-members and 128 fans on their own.
But I think there will be some more fans (me) going on their own (since AZ and their sponsor (Kras) only had space for 125 (!) fans in the airplane).
Anyway, 500 fans would be great, I hope the Toumba stadium is sold out on the 16th!

I hope so AZer but I am afraid it won't happen.
PAOK fans seem to be very dissapointed for what it took place in our football club in last 2-3 weeks.
 :cwm12: :cwm12: :cwm12: We need a shrink asap!!!!!  :cwm12: :cwm12:  :cwm12:

Anyway, Thessaloniki is a very beautiful and coooool city especially for tourists.

We welcome you into the bosom of Toumpa.  :05a: :05a:
Remember this stadium carries bags of experience from more than 45 years.
I can write loads of pages though its not the right topic.

And I supposed allways "Sindrofos Bin Laden" lives currently in the Oral Office for subletting.

But serious: I think its not a problem to get a cheap hotel in Thessaloniki, its a normal town with a population more from a million and its not directly Kandahar where they dont expect everyday visitors without beards and with foreskins...
I just cant give you a advice, cause I live in Berlin, but I think its not so difficult to found any "cheap cave".  ;)

Notice that in Thesaloniki from 9th September until 19th takes place the International Trade Fair. Because of thousands of visitors, it is hard to find a cheap&free hotel room. My advice?Try the suburbs area, there are some motels about 10 kms from the centre of the city. My second advice is to rent a car for your transportations. You must take under consideration that these days there is a tremendous traffic jam all around the city, which means that you have to take care to be punctual in our home ground, airport etc.
I suggest 2 motels:
