Two Marseille fans have died after the coach they were travelling in crashed into a bridge post 70 kilometres south of Paris, according to reports.
French newspaper La Provence reported that 14 other people were seriously injured in the accident, which occurred on the A6 near Fontainebleau around 7.45am local time.
Six of those 14 were transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital.
The official OM coach was transporting supporters to Le Havre ahead of Saturday's Ligue 1 match at the Stade Jules Deschaseaux.
It is believed to be the only vehicle involved in the accident.
The reasons behind the incident are unknown.
The match between Le Havre and Marseille could now be postponed.
"We are all in shock," OM sporting director Jose Anigo is quoted as saying in La Provence.
"If we play, we will wear black armbands without asking for authorisation.
"The real question is whether OM are going to play tonight. (Marseille president) Pape Diouf is going to discuss it with Frederic Thiriez, the president of the French league."
The match is scheduled to kick off at 7pm local time.
