Home fans were good. Certainly the noise level was well up and they kept it going. They also lashed into the chants directly after Rovers scored which is a sign of a decent support instead of heaping abuse on their own team.

Back tonight from the game and still glowing from another amazing experience in the greatest year yet in the history of our beloved club.
This is what European participation is all about. A genuinely different experience - PAOK fans were more South American in their approach than any other set of fans I've experienced so far - and our team put in another incredible shift, the best yet. We competed for 90 minutes and played like it was second nature - because it is our level, now.
Respect to the PAOK fans who applauded us at the end. I didn't expect that as they drowned us out for long periods. Our fans have done a tremendous job so far in being outstanding ambassadors for the club and I hope we can maintain that standard and continue to show a bit of class everywhere we go.
Our group came home via Rome and thanks to the incredible man that is Romanista Rover we spent a chilled afternoon eating excellent pasta, cheese and meat dishes and sipping local vino rosso in a cracking little cheap-n-cheerful eatery near Termini. The staff had a collective jaw-drop when they heard the SRFC budget was in the region of 2.5 million. 'How can you run a club on that little money?' one said. How indeed. Most clubs at the level we're competing at would be handing similar amounts over to a single player. PAOK's fines for flares last year was a cool million. Their annual budget is 17 million.
We're now dancing with the prettiest girls in Europe, while our local rivals still haven't got past the bouncers. My heart is bursting with pride thinking about all that's been achieved in recent times. If we can build on that, sweet Jesus, they'll have to find a new word to describe my feelings, because amazing won't be good enough anymore.
While the vast majority of people in Ireland ignore Shamrock Rovers, the rest of Europe now knows and admires Shamrock Rovers.

Even with the stench from the rubbish in the streets,the people of Thessalonika are probably the friendliest people ive ever come across.Every single person wants to know about Rovers or about the game.even Wishing us good look. As for inside the Stadium,i loved every minute of it. Lovely stadium with an incredible atmosphere which left you with hairs standing on the back of your neck at times. You lads really know how to support your team. At one stage i turned around to someone beside me and said "I would love to be in their end right now"
The applause by both sets of fans was a great sign of respect and the Hokey Cokey at the end was hilarious.

I certainly want to go back some day to Toumba stadium as i cant imagine i will hear a better atmosphere anywere in the world !
Great trip and a nice place.the PAOK fans on thursday were the best fans/atmosphere i have ever witnessed us play against.glad to hear they have sold 440 tickets for the game in Tallaght and they can bring some of the atmosphere with them.all in all a good bunch of lads

The pre match countdown thing with the ultra on the pitch with the drum and the crowd response was very impressive indeed.
